tide
48 hour durational improvisation and winner of the 2018 Helpmann Award for Best Physical Theatre
Over two days and nights, through a mix of improvisation, dance, real estate deals, personal interactions and live environmental soundtrack, this Helpmann Award winning dance-theatre work gives audiences an opportunity to participate in an unfolding drama as these two performers deal with the very real consequences of their situation. They ask the community for food and support as they deal with the environmental conditions and their physical deterioration and thereby transform a tough reality into a place of optimism and compassion, a place where our true nature shines through as we face the coming reality together
Change is unrelenting and the tide cannot be held back, no matter how you fight it.
Welcome to an absurdist view of the impacts of climate change as the ocean rises around the feet of two businessmen trapped in an office on a sandbar, clinging to what they know in denial of an obvious truth, the rising TIDE.
