Death Piece
For everyone who is going to die
On The Farm, we are exploring a taboo subject, death, something our dominant western culture doesn't like to contemplate. Drawing velvet curtains over coffins and painting dead bodies with makeup so they look alive, we do everything we can to disguise the ephemeral nature of our physical existence.
Death Piece will tackle this difficult subject head on, creating a communal space inside a theatre to embark upon a cathartic grieving for ourselves, our loved ones and our planet.
We’re not just talking about the big D here, but also the little d’s. The tiny deaths we experience every day, the death of versions of ourselves, the death of our dreams and desires. Even the death of an act, an act of theatre.
Death piece will premier in 2026
By connecting with death, we remember that we are alive, extraordinary beings experiencing unbelievable moments of transcendence, possibility and interconnectedness. Death Piece will be inclusive, communal and celebratory, showcasing The Farm’s unique ability to deal with serious topics in an accessible and light-hearted manner and inviting audiences to see death not as something to fear but as a necessary aspect of our lives.
